    Description

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) administers this competitive program under Title IV, Part B of the Every Student Succeeds Act. Cycle 24 supports community learning centers serving students at high-poverty and low-performing schools. Programs combine academic, artistic, and cultural enrichment with hands-on activities that support achievement and social development.

Centers must extend classroom learning through evidence-based activities aligned with Kentucky Academic Standards, daily homework assistance, and remediation or acceleration. Supported activities include STEAM, social-emotional learning, service learning, transition readiness, and summer learning. Literacy and other educational opportunities must also address the needs of participating students’ parents and working families. Partnerships among schools, families, and community organizations support academic achievement, attendance, behavior, and family engagement.
