Description
The Kentucky Touring Grant, administered by the Kentucky Arts Council, helps make quality public performances available across the commonwealth. It supports presenters booking juried artists from the council’s Performing Artists Directory, with funding for performer fees and performance marketing and promotion. Support may cover one performance by one artist or multiple performances featuring up to five directory performers within a festival, performance series, or season.
The program emphasizes clearly identified audiences, thoughtful performance planning, appropriate promotion, and evaluation of each performance’s impact. Accessibility for audiences and performers includes physical, communication, and programmatic access. Funded performances may also include artist-led outreach, such as master classes, community workshops, mini-performances for community partners, and conversations with performers, directors, or choreographers. Directory artists must participate in planning and conducting agreed-upon outreach.
