Summary: Supports industrial reinforcement to expand EU production capacity for critical defence electronic components and reduce supply bottlenecks.
Key Information: Applicants face establishment, ownership-control, component-origin and defence-product design-authority restrictions.
This European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP) industrial reinforcement call is managed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS). It supports production expansion, modernisation, automation, repurposing and new capacity for electronic components critical to defence products across land, air, naval and underwater domains. It also supports cross-border industrial partnerships, reserved surge capacity, industrialisation and commercialisation, testing and reconditioning certification.
Priorities include guidance and propulsion electronics, RF and laser modules, multispectral cameras, avionics, printed circuit boards and IC substrates, lithium-ion polymer batteries, power electronics and critical semiconductor building blocks. Projects must demonstrate urgent production bottlenecks and deliver measurable capacity gains, shorter lead times, stronger security of supply and greater geographical resilience. An optional work package may protect production sites and systems against physical, cyber and drone-enabled threats.
