Description
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) administers these grants through the Commonwealth’s Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund. They support nonprofit organizations and public agencies undertaking preservation, restoration, or rehabilitation of historic places in Pennsylvania. The program promotes stewardship, preservation trades, interpretation, and public enjoyment of historic properties.
Supported work includes masonry and carpentry repairs, roofing, window restoration, structural repairs, historic landscape restoration, building systems, and accessibility improvements. Projects must advance Pennsylvania’s statewide historic preservation plan and meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Planning-only projects belong in the separate Keystone Historic Preservation Planning Grants program.
