Description
The Stanford King Center on Global Development maintains a limited pool of emergency funding for rare, exceptional circumstances that jeopardize ongoing research projects. The center works to improve the lives of the world’s poor and recognizes the increasing complexity and unpredictability of research in low- and middle-income countries. Support addresses discrete, unforeseen needs in projects that would otherwise be fully funded.
Funding can bridge a delay in committed external support when a research partner needs interim funding confirmation. It can also address one-time needs caused by unexpected external shocks, such as changes in government regulations or new tariffs on essential inputs. The program is intended to remove barriers to completing funded research, not to support new or expanded research activities.
