    Description

The Knee Society Research Programs support original research through study funding and/or Society endorsement. Administered by the Research Committee, chaired by James I. Huddleston, III, MD, the program accepts member-submitted proposals and seed-grant applications from non-member Young Investigators. Projects may be stand-alone studies or proof-of-concept trials that provide a basis for larger studies requiring additional funding.

Alongside its regular grant cycle, the program includes an American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) request for randomized prospective trials on cementless fixation and robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty. Multi-center proposals with potential for high impact receive favorable consideration. Projects are structured as one-year studies, with annual renewal subject to review and approval for up to three years total.
