Description
The Knowledge Synthesis Grants (KSG), offered by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), are designed to mobilize, examine, and synthesize social sciences and humanities research addressing global challenges identified through the Imagining Canada’s Future initiative. The current competition focuses on "The Changing Nature of Security and Conflict," with a goal to inform policy, practice, and future research agendas in Canada and internationally (in partnership with NordForsk for Stream 2). These grants fund comprehensive syntheses of existing knowledge—original research projects are not eligible.
The program encourages multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral approaches, Indigenous-led research, and projects that engage stakeholders across academia, government, not-for-profits, and the private sector. Expected deliverables include a synthesis report and an evidence brief, both of which must be made openly accessible.
