The Kolkata Eden Hospital Annual Prize commemorates the legacy of Mr Prabhat Chattopadhyay FRCOG and his association with Kolkata Medical College Hospital. This annual award celebrates excellence in obstetrics and gynaecology by recognising exceptional case study submissions that demonstrate insightful analysis by final year medical students or Foundation Year 1 (FY1) doctors in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The prize also pays tribute to the hospital's historical significance, especially its connection to Professor Green Armytage, the developer of the widely used uterine haemostatic forceps.
