Description
The Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) offers this award to move basic research discoveries toward clinical applications for Friedreich’s ataxia (FA). Projects should advance a therapeutic candidate toward clinical study or develop tools that overcome a critical bottleneck in therapy discovery or development.
Supported work includes pre-clinical testing of therapeutics, biologics, or devices when proof of concept is established; technologies for therapy development or delivery; and pharmacodynamic, monitoring, or diagnostic biomarkers. The award also supports novel clinical endpoints for FA trials and clinical studies of patient outcome measures. Proposed research must fit at least one of FARA’s grant program priorities.
