Description
Ladenburg Horizons is a Daimler and Benz Foundation funding line for research alliances between institutions in Germany and Africa. It supports German research institutions that already work with African partners or want to establish new connections. The foundation frames the initiative around the growing scientific and political significance of African countries and their research potential.
Funding is for a clearly defined joint research project with a central research question, rather than a particular discipline or topic. The project should also provide a basis for continued cooperation after the grant ends; applicants are asked to address how the partnership could be sustained. The 2027 call covers partnerships with scientific establishments in specified African regions.
