The Patrick Leahy Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP), in coordination with the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC), supports education and outreach projects advancing the Informed and Involved Public goal of Opportunities for Action: An Evolving Plan for the Future of the Lake Champlain Basin.
The grants support efforts to enhance public knowledge and understanding—including among children and adults—of the water-quality and ecosystem-health issues identified in the plan. Projects may also foster informed decision-making, individual action, and behavior change that benefit Lake Champlain. Funding comes from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency funds awarded to NEIWPCC on behalf of LCBP, in partnership with the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.
