Description
The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is a federal aid program administered in South Dakota by South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks. It helps eligible public sponsors acquire land for outdoor recreation and develop facilities that expand opportunities for people to gather, play, and spend time outside.
Projects may include playgrounds, ballfields, sport and play fields, picnic facilities, pools, ice rinks, golf courses, amphitheaters, winter sports facilities, and visitor information facilities. Applicants are asked to show how their projects meet community needs and align with priorities in the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan and local planning efforts.
