Description
The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant helps Wyoming communities develop or acquire land and facilities for public outdoor recreation. Wyoming State Parks administers the federally funded program. Eligible work can include outdoor sports facilities, community swimming pools and pathways, provided the project addresses a need identified in Wyoming’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan.
The program is intended to preserve, develop and ensure access to outdoor recreation. Projects are ranked through Wyoming’s Open Project Selection Process, prioritized by the Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resource Commissioners, and sent to the National Park Service (NPS) for review and approval. Funded sites must provide a lasting public benefit.
