The USDA Forest Service’s Landscape Scale Restoration (LSR) Program funds collaborative, high-impact restoration on rural non-industrial private forest land and rural state or local government forest land. Projects must advance a State Forest Action Plan or equivalent science-based restoration strategy, leverage public and private resources, and produce measurable on-the-ground results.
Supported objectives include reducing wildfire risk, improving fish and wildlife habitat, protecting water quality and watershed function, mitigating invasive species, insects and disease, improving important forest ecosystems, and measuring ecological and economic benefits. Program priorities also include increasing timber production and expanding rural economies. This national non-federal lands opportunity replaces the three previous regional notices, while retaining regional review teams.
