    • Phase 2: Successful scholars may receive up to 3 years of NIH funding to continue their research at an extramural (non-NIH) institution, or may remain as an investigator within the NIH intramural program.
The program is designed to foster the development of future leaders in clinical research and to strengthen connections between NIH's internal and external research communities.
