Description
The IMPACT Last Mile Grant Supplement at UCSF supports the final step between completed research and an evidence-informed decision. It funds dissemination of a single study or a body of research, which need not all have been conducted by the principal investigator. Findings must be sufficiently robust for decision making and consistent with scientific consensus. The program supports educating decision makers and other stakeholders, rather than lobbying officials.
Projects may develop evidence briefs, infographics, presentations, or stakeholder meetings to inform actions such as allocating new funding, adding a strategic priority, or revising a clinical guideline. Support covers the time and resources needed to prepare and communicate findings. Review emphasizes the potential to influence decisions, the appropriateness of the audience, and the feasibility of the dissemination strategy.
