Description
The American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Latin American Federation of Chemical Associations (FLAQ) jointly promote these awards to recognize women scientists with relevant contributions and outstanding research in chemistry and related sciences. Sponsored by ACS, ACS Publications, and CAS, the program promotes gender equality across the Latin American and Caribbean chemistry community and recognizes diversity’s impact on scientific research.
Three categories honor emerging scientific and entrepreneurial achievement, industrial research and innovation contributing to commercial success and societal benefit, and established academic research with global and social impact. Recognition encompasses teaching and student advising, publications and patents, innovative products and processes, team leadership, research partnerships, extension activities, and social projects. ACS and FLAQ jointly review nominations.
