Description
Lung Cancer Foundation of America (LCFA) and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) jointly fund early-career investigators conducting translational clinical-oncology research in lung cancer. The program aims to improve detection, diagnosis, treatment, and care while developing investigators in thoracic oncology.
Potential topics include molecular risk assessment and diagnostics, early detection, therapies for early-stage or metastatic disease, treatment side effects, and lung cancer unrelated to smoking. Projects must seek an immediate, relevant impact on patient care or provide molecular interpretations of clinical-trial results that can inform future trials. Special consideration goes to work that could rapidly advance to a prospective clinical trial, improve access or outcomes, or directly benefit underrepresented populations.
