The AAA Leadership Fellows Program provides early-career anthropologists with a unique opportunity to learn about leadership roles within the American Anthropological Association (AAA). Each year, three fellows are selected and paired with mentors from AAA leadership, offering an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the association’s governance, including participation in meetings of the Executive Board and Association Committees. Fellows also attend special receptions and are guided on balancing AAA service with professional and community responsibilities. The program aims to foster future leaders in anthropology by providing mentorship, networking, and exposure to the inner workings of the AAA.
