Description
This immersive in-person program at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is designed for Indigenous leaders, directors, and managers seeking to strengthen governance practices for councils and boards. The curriculum emphasizes culturally-grounded governance models, combining presentations, workshops, and classroom exercises with traditional and spiritual teachings guided by an Elder. Participants will explore how to build on Indigenous governance structures, adapt corporate systems to Indigenous values, and enhance organizational effectiveness. The program aims to move beyond Western frameworks, offering new perspectives on leadership roles, responsibilities, and performance in Indigenous contexts.
