Description
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s LEAPP-ACE CF Fellowship supports advanced practice providers (APPs) in developing comprehensive clinical expertise in cystic fibrosis care. The structured, virtual 18-month program aims to recruit and retain providers who can address the complex needs of a growing and aging CF population, strengthening the workforce in outpatient pediatric and adult care programs.
Fellows learn through online modules, assigned readings, biweekly webinars, case discussions, and clinical training with a local experienced CF physician or APP. The curriculum covers CF pathophysiology, genetics, and clinical care across the lifespan. The program prepares APPs for independent general CF practice rather than training CF subspecialists, such as endocrinologists or gastroenterologists. Completion is recognized within the CF care center network but confers no additional formal credentials and is not accredited by an education body or licensing board.
