Description
The LEARN (Leverage, Empower, Advance, Research, Network) program, funded by the Jacobs Foundation, is designed to strengthen scientific capacity in Ghana and Colombia. It provides early-career and established researchers in these countries with access to advanced research training, mentorship, and integration into global scientific networks. The initiative aims to address the underrepresentation of Global South scholars in educational and developmental science, fostering a more inclusive and diverse evidence base for child development and education research.
LEARN offers inquiry-driven instruction, professional development, and peer mentoring. Participants benefit from connections to international research societies, collaborative workshops (notably through the LEVANTE initiative), and opportunities for knowledge exchange. The program is led by a distinguished team of scholars and supported by international advisory groups, enabling researchers to address locally relevant questions while contributing to global research agendas.
