Description
The Lee Student Support Fund is administered by the Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP) to facilitate undergraduate and graduate students’ attendance at its Annual Meeting. Established in recognition of Al Lee’s commitment to social justice and contributions to the Society, the fund helps students meet transportation and other conference participation costs.
Demonstrated financial need informs selection, with preference given to students who are ABD (all but dissertation) and/or nearing completion of their Ph.D. The committee may also consider the Society’s commitment to diversity, applicants’ commitment to scholar-activism, and interdisciplinary work. This is support for participation in the SSSP Annual Meeting, rather than general conference travel funding.
