Description
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity offers creative teams one to three weeks of focused, self-directed work in private Leighton Studios in its forested surroundings in Banff, Alberta. The competitive residency supports collaborative research, creation, exploration, and project development while allowing participants to work independently and manage their own time. Supported disciplines include design, music, theatre arts, visual arts, writing, filmmaking, and interdisciplinary projects.
Painter House accommodates groups of two to eight, while duos can also request the Thom or Gerin-Lajoie studios. The program provides accommodation, meals, studio space, and library and archives access. It is intended for independent creative work rather than supported production: technical assistance, instrument rentals, production support, and specialized production facilities are not included.
