Description

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity offers this competitive, self-directed residency for individual creative professionals developing photographic work. Residents receive private use of the Crich Photography Studio for two to six weeks, with a black-and-white darkroom and digital photography setup. Projects may involve analogue film development, processing and printing, digital photography, or selected alternative processes, including cyanotype.

The program provides time, space, and focus for independent research creation, exploration, and project development in Banff’s mountain setting. Participants may work in solitude or engage with the Centre’s artistic community. The residency includes accommodation, meals, and access to the Paul D. Fleck Library and Archives. It does not provide technical assistance, production support, colour darkroom facilities, or digital printing access.
