The Martin J. Sherwin Biography Fellowship in Nuclear Age History is a summer residency offered by the Leon Levy Center for Biography at the CUNY Graduate Center. It supports biographers and historians researching and writing about influential figures in nuclear-age science, politics, and diplomacy, with biography as the central form of the proposed work.
The fellowship is part of the Center’s annual program supporting the research and writing of outstanding biographies. It provides financial support for sustained work during the summer, full access to research facilities, and optional private writing space at the Graduate Center. The Center gives preference to writers who have not yet published a biography or received a fellowship to write one, while also welcoming mid-career and senior writers.
