    Description

The Leon Levy Scholarships in Neuroscience, administered by The New York Academy of Sciences in partnership with the Leon Levy Foundation, support innovative postdoctoral research across New York City’s five boroughs. The program gives early-career researchers greater autonomy to develop new ideas and research directions that can establish them as independent neuroscientists. Its priorities include cultivating excellence and innovation in a diverse neuroscience workforce and preparing scholars for competitive scientific careers.

Alongside research funding, scholars receive structured mentorship, grant-writing support, and access to professional development in scientific communication, project and budget management, neuroethics, and community engagement. Group seminars and an engaged community of current scholars and alumni foster networking, data sharing, cross-institutional collaboration, and team science.
