    Description

The Leslie Brown Research Grant, administered by the Raptor Research Foundation, provides financial assistance for research and the dissemination of information on African birds of prey. It commemorates Leslie Brown, a raptor conservation biologist who settled in Kenya and studied African raptors, including the ten species of eagles nesting at Eagle Hill.

Supported work has examined population status, distribution, reproductive biology, movements, habitat requirements, and conservation threats affecting vultures, eagles, owls, and other raptors across Africa. Past projects have addressed land-use impacts, lead exposure in vultures, illegal owl egg trade, and wind turbine collision risk for eagles. The grant has also supported community training in raptor identification and monitoring, conservation awareness, and educational outreach.
