Description
The Elmina B. Sewall Foundation’s Lewiston-Auburn program supports community-led work to build a stronger, more connected community. Its priorities reflect needs identified by local partners: housing, community and public health, food and hunger, workforce and economic development, and civic infrastructure and engagement. The program supports individual organizations and collaborative efforts, emphasizing flexible, long-term funding that sustains community work and strengthens organizational capacity.
Preference goes to direct community services, capacity building, community organizing, public policy and advocacy, and workshops and educational opportunities. Capacity building can include staffing, planning, and organizational sustainability. Alongside grants, the foundation offers technical assistance, impact investment, facilitated convening, and shared learning in partnership with other local funders.
