--- ## Description The Lundbeck Foundation Postdoc grant funds innovative postdoctoral research projects in neuroscience or closely related fields, broadly defined to include medical, technical, natural, social sciences, and the humanities, provided there is a clear neuroscience connection. The program aims to foster international experience and cross-disciplinary collaboration, supporting researchers who either wish to gain experience abroad and return to Denmark, or who are relocating to Denmark from abroad. The grant is designed to advance understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of brain and nervous system disorders, and to help develop future independent research leaders. The Foundation places a strong emphasis on diversity and encourages applications from underrepresented groups in academia. --- ## Due Dates - November 20, 2025: Full application deadline (13:00 CET) --- ## Funding Amount - Individual awards: Up to DKK 1,000,000 per year, for up to three years (maximum DKK 3,000,000 per project) - Total program budget: Up to DKK 40 million - Additional relocation and child support funds available for eligible applicants - Indirect costs: Up to 10% for non-university Danish institutions and for periods abroad (see guidelines for details) - Travel costs: Up to DKK 20,000 per year may be included --- ## Eligibility - **Career stage:** No more than five years post-PhD at the application deadline (extensions possible for parental/medical leave or clinical training) - **PhD status:** Must have a PhD or be able to document expected PhD completion within six months of the deadline (by May 20, 2026) - **Research focus:** Project must have clear potential benefit for neuroscience or therapies for nervous system disorders - **Mobility requirement:** Change in research environment is required - **Type 1:** Scientists residing in Denmark for at least five years who wish to conduct 18–36 months of research abroad and return to Denmark - **Type 2:** Scientists relocating to Denmark from abroad to conduct research in a Danish environment - **Host institution:** The grant must be managed by a Danish non-commercial research institution - **Other:** If neither the applicant nor the host group has neuroscience experience, collaboration with a neuroscience group is required --- ## Application Process - Applications must be submitted in English via the [Lundbeck Foundation’s application system](https://lanas.lundbeckfonden.com/). - Required documents: - Research project description - Roadmap to neuroscience and career impact - Description of research environment(s) - Full publication list and CV (structured format) - Budget (with justification for all items, including any relocation/child support) - Letters of support from host group leaders (in Denmark and, if relevant, abroad), including mentoring commitment - Commitment letter from the Danish host institution agreeing to manage the grant - For pending PhD completion, a support letter from the main supervisor - Only materials submitted through the application system before the deadline will be considered. - Review process: Applications are screened for eligibility, then assessed by the Lundbeck Foundation Talent Panel on scientific quality and career potential.
