Summary: Supports Annual Meeting attendance for trainees dedicated to research and practice on LGBT health and wellness.

Key Information: Applicants must be SBSM members or becoming members and must have submitted a meeting abstract.

    Description

The LGBT Health Scholar Trainee Award is offered by the Society for Biopsychosocial Science and Medicine (SBSM) to help trainees dedicated to research and practice on LGBT health and wellness attend its Annual Meeting. The award provides accommodation support at the host hotel rather than funding a separate research project.

The program emphasizes a shared commitment to reducing LGBT health disparities, not applicants’ own sexual orientation or gender identity. Heterosexual and cisgender allies are welcome alongside applicants who identify as sexual or gender minorities. Through this meeting-attendance support, SBSM helps trainees working on LGBT health participate in its scientific community.
