    Description

The LGBTQ Fund, administered by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, provides grants to nonprofit organizations working to improve equality, fairness, acceptance, and mutual respect for LGBTQ individuals and families in the Greater New Orleans area. Funding supports general operations, programs, advocacy, and capacity building, with a focus on addressing critical community needs and service gaps. Priority is given to projects that advocate for effective policies, build cultural competency in mainstream organizations, and deliver high-quality, culturally competent direct services in areas such as healthcare, crisis management, workforce development, housing, and social services. Special emphasis is placed on serving the most marginalized members of the LGBTQ community, including elders, transgender youth and adults of color, low-income LGBTQ people, and those who are disabled.
