Description
The Li Tze Fong Memorial Fellowships are made available by the University of British Columbia and the Li family in memory of Mr. Li Tze Fong. Administered through UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, the fellowships support doctoral study through the annual Affiliated Fellowships competitions. Recipients are known as Li Tze Fong Scholars, and selection follows the doctoral competition’s academic-excellence evaluation and university-wide adjudication process.
The fellowship supports research across varied disciplines. Featured scholars work in geography, law, oceanography, and biochemistry and molecular biology. Their projects include older adults’ experiences of extreme heat in Metro Vancouver, approaches to combating corruption, carbon export in the Southern Ocean, and degradation of disease-associated mutant proteins.
