Description
The Library Enhancement Grant is a competitive, project-based program administered by the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL), with federal Institute of Museum and Library Services funding through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). It helps Idaho libraries provide accessible, relevant services, programs, and collections that would otherwise be difficult to support within local budgets.
Projects must identify a specific target audience, demonstrate that audience’s need, and provide activities or services that meet it. Each project must include meaningful educational activities and align with at least one goal of Idaho’s LSTA Five-Year State Plan: building institutional capacity, strengthening libraries as community educators and connectors, or ensuring equitable access to information and reading materials. Funding supplements rather than replaces existing local resources.
