Description
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) plans to fund cooperative agreements that develop or expand statewide Lifespan Respite Care systems. The program supports respite care and related services for family caregivers of children and adults, regardless of the care recipient’s age, disability, or chronic condition. It offers one option for states establishing or re-establishing core respite infrastructure and another for states enhancing existing programs.
Funded states will work with respite organizations and coalitions to build statewide partnerships, expand volunteer options, train respite providers, identify service gaps or duplication, and advance caregiver-focused respite strategies. Programs must address the needs of all care recipient populations from the outset.
