Description
The Lignite Research Program is a state-industry partnership administered by the North Dakota Industrial Commission. It funds near-term, practical research and development projects that preserve and enhance the development of North Dakota’s abundant lignite resources. Projects may address energy diversification, environmental compliance, cleaner combustion, reclamation, new market opportunities, and other lignite-related challenges. The program seeks to ensure the economic and environmentally sound use of lignite, support job creation and retention, and maintain a robust state tax base.
