Linda Hall Library supports scholars of exceptional promise conducting research in the history of science and related humanities fields. General fellowships fund projects examining the relationship between science, technology, and society. Fellows join an intellectual community of Library experts, other fellows, and scholars from Kansas City cultural and educational institutions.
Residential fellowships support work with the collections in Kansas City, while virtual fellowships support off-site research using digital holdings, personalized reference assistance, and complimentary scans under the Library’s digitization policies. Specialized residential awards support the intersecting histories of science and medicine, aerospace history, and books and manuscripts as physical artifacts. The Library encourages applicants from groups traditionally underrepresented in academia and welcomes Kansas City-area scholars whose projects would benefit from its holdings.
