Description
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), with support from the Lindsay Stewart Foundation, offers funding towards elective placements in obstetrics and gynaecology. The award helps medical students gain clinical experience, develop practical skills and understand a potential career in the specialty. Applications are particularly encouraged for electives in low- or middle-income countries within RCOG’s Bands B or C.
The award reflects Lindsay Stewart’s lifelong association with RCOG and commitment to continuous quality improvement in healthcare. He funded the Lindsay Stewart R&D Centre to promote quality improvement tools and advance standards of care in women’s health. Proposed electives are assessed for their quality, feasibility, clear objectives and expected benefits, alongside support from the host institution.
