--- ## Description This opportunity funds nonprofit organizations and governmental entities for projects that improve quality of life and support community development outside the metropolitan area in Linn County, Iowa. The program emphasizes innovative, well-designed projects that address local conditions, make effective use of resources, and demonstrate solutions to community issues. Both capital and programmatic requests are eligible, and the grantmaking process is guided by principles of equity, transparency, and measurable community value. --- ## Due Dates - September 12, 2025 (Friday, by 4:30 p.m. CST) - September 11, 2026 (Friday, by 4:30 p.m. CST) All applications must be submitted through the online portal by the stated deadline. --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum request: **$10,000 per project** - Grant duration: **12 months** - Funding is competitive and based on the strength of the proposal, organizational readiness, and community impact. --- ## Eligibility - **Eligible Applicants:** - Nonprofit organizations with current 501(c)(3) status from the IRS - Governmental entities - Non-501(c)(3) organizations with a fiscal sponsor (must have a formal agreement with a 501(c)(3)) - **Project Location:** Projects must serve non-metropolitan areas of Linn County, Iowa (Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha, Robins, and Fairfax are considered metropolitan and are excluded unless the project benefits non-metro areas). - Organizations based in the metro area may apply if the project is for a non-metro community and has local support/partners. **Ineligible Activities:** - Fundraising events or activities - Religious activities or projects supporting an organization’s core religious mission - Scholarships for primary, secondary, or post-secondary education - Expenses incurred before or during the grant review process - Travel outside the region - Re-granting funds to other nonprofits --- ## Application Process 1. **Review Eligibility:** Ensure your organization and project meet the requirements. 2. **Prepare Materials:** Update your organizational profile and gather required documents (budget, financial statements, etc.). 3. **Online Application:** Submit through the [GOapply portal](https://goapply2.akoyago.com/gcrcf/identity/account/login). 4. **Proposal Content:** Applications must address project design, community value, organizational capacity, and equity practices.
