Description
South Arts' Literary Arts Project Grants are designed to elevate the literary traditions of the American South by funding high-quality, contemporary literary projects. These grants are intended for nonprofit literary arts organizations, independent publishers, and small presses headquartered in South Arts’ nine-state region. Supported projects may include the creation and publishing of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, young readers’ literature, and scriptwriting, as well as public engagement initiatives such as reading series, literary festivals, and digital programming. Projects must demonstrate artistic excellence, editorial rigor, and significant public or community impact, with a commitment to innovation, accessibility, and fair compensation for participants.
