The Local First Responder Microgrant Program is administered by Georgia’s Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC). Created by the Georgia General Assembly in 2022, the program supports local agencies that are among the first to arrive and provide assistance at emergency scenes. Its focus is on resources that improve emergency response readiness and protect citizens within the jurisdictions served.
Eligible work includes purchases of supplies and equipment directly related to emergency assistance, as well as travel, registrations, trainer fees, and printing. Equipment primarily intended for tactical enforcement, crowd control, surveillance, or general mobility is not eligible when it does not directly improve emergency response readiness. CJCC encourages collaboration between jurisdictions because the program is competitive and has many potential applicants.
