Description
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department administers this voter-approved, state lottery-funded program to expand and improve public outdoor recreation in Oregon. Projects must be consistent with outdoor recreation goals in the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) and/or recreation elements of local comprehensive or master plans.
Funding supports acquisition of land and waters for parks, trails, and open space; development of facilities such as playgrounds, sports fields, trails, campsites, and restrooms; and major rehabilitation of existing facilities, including work to improve accessibility. Small-community planning grants support park and recreation master plans, site-specific plans, and non-motorized trail system plans developed with public participation.
