Description
The Local Legal Support Initiative (LLSI) is a partnership between the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) and the State of Colorado, designed to offer free legal assistance to local governments, federally recognized Tribes, special districts, and Colorado-based nonprofit organizations. The initiative focuses on helping eligible entities navigate complex federal funding issues, with an emphasis on supporting small and rural communities, though urban organizations are also eligible. The program aims to safeguard local investments by ensuring awarded federal funds remain compliant with regulations and protected from clawbacks, contract changes, or terminations.
