Description
The American Chemical Society’s Committee on Local Section Activities (LSAC) sponsors this grant to help ACS local sections embrace and advance inclusion and belonging. It encourages projects that foster inclusiveness and participation within a section and support interaction with other ACS local sections, divisions, committees, professional associations, or community groups. LSAC welcomes varied approaches reflecting each section’s interpretation of inclusion and belonging.
Supported activities may include speaker and seminar series, heritage days, book clubs, training, workshops, and diversity professional development. Other examples include scholarship matching funds, undergraduate research support, hosting or sponsoring Project SEED activities, high school mentoring, and outreach to underrepresented communities and schools.
