Description
The American Physiological Society (APS) runs the Local Undergraduate Research Awards in Physiology (LURAP) to recognize undergraduate excellence in physiology research at students’ home institutions. The program aims to foster undergraduates’ interest in physiological research, encourage continued physiological studies, and help students connect with APS members at their institutions.
The awards center on physiology posters and oral presentations at institutional research showcase events. A judging panel evaluates the presentations, and APS members present the award in person on behalf of the Society to the student with the best physiology poster or presentation. One student per event receives recognition through a one-year APS undergraduate membership and an award certificate.
