Description
The Lois Ann Gregory-Wood Fellows Program is an annual conference scholarship offered by the American Library Association (ALA) and administered by its Office for Human Resource Development and Recruitment (HRDR). Established in 2019, it honors Gregory-Wood’s nearly 50 years of service to ALA, including her work supporting ALA Council. The program is intended for mid-career members interested in understanding and participating in the Association’s governance.
Fellows receive conference support and work with an experienced ALA member through a mentoring component known as the Lois Ann Gregory-Wood Supporter. By observing and engaging in governance meetings, participants gain an inside view of ALA’s leadership processes. The goal is to help members become involved in governance at any level and expand the pool of members interested in serving the Association.
