    Description

The London Mathematical Society’s Scheme 7 supports visits for collaborative research at the interface of mathematics and computer science. A grant holder may visit another institution in the UK or abroad, or host a named mathematician from the UK or overseas at their home institution. Funding is for specific projects with named collaborators, rather than general sabbatical visits or conference attendance.

The scheme welcomes mathematicians at any career level, with priority given to early career researchers. It normally favours new collaborations, while repeat funding requires a clear explanation of the additional value further support would bring. Previously supported work includes graph colouring, word-representability of split graphs, category-theoretic models of variable binders, and parameterised algorithms for evaluating a graph’s Tutte polynomial.
