The London Mathematical Society’s Inclusion and Diversity Fund supports events promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in mathematics. It is managed by the Committee for Women and Diversity in Mathematics and supported by the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research. Its broad view of diversity includes race, ethnicity, gender, trans identity, sexual orientation, sex, age, religion or religious belief, neurodiversity, socioeconomic status, disabilities and background.
The fund supports events celebrating people from particular diversity groups in the mathematical sciences, whether in industry or academia, and offering mentoring or networking opportunities. It also supports activities encouraging young people from diverse backgrounds to continue with mathematics, and events addressing systems and policies that affect diversity. Events may serve audiences from school-age through postgraduate level and beyond.
