The London Mathematical Society (LMS) Research Schools provide training for research students across all contemporary areas of mathematics, with support from the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research and UKRI. Held in the UK, the schools bring students and postdoctoral researchers from the UK and abroad together with internationally leading mathematicians and early-career peers.
The programme aims to introduce qualified research students to important and developing research areas and help establish them as future leaders in their research communities. Schools combine lecture courses, tutorials and opportunities for academic and social exchange. Proposals are assessed for mathematical significance, topicality, demand nationally and internationally, and the standing of proposed lecturers.
