The London Mathematical Society (LMS) Research Schools on Knowledge Exchange provide training in the exchange of knowledge between mathematical research and users of mathematics. Run by the LMS with support from the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research and UKRI, the schools combine Knowledge Exchange training with the mathematics underpinning it. They take place in the UK and bring together research students and postdoctoral researchers from the UK and abroad.
The programme covers all areas of contemporary mathematics. Its principal aim is to introduce qualified research students to important and developing research areas through lectures by internationally leading mathematicians, helping participants become future leaders in their research communities. Speakers are expected to have experience relevant to Knowledge Exchange. The programme is modelled on the Society’s established Research Schools series.
